Initial stages of oxide growth on AM stainless steel exposed to a supercritical CO2 environment

چکیده
Wrought and additively manufactured (AM) 316 L stainless steel samples were exposed to a simulated Brayton cycle supercritical CO2 (sCO2) environment, at temperature of 450 °C pressure 76 bar in 99.999% for 2 weeks. The ground surfaces wrought AM specimens had average oxide thickness 95 51 µm, respectively, composed primarily Fe Cr oxides. An as-printed sample was also the sCO2 environment exhibited negligible oxidation during 2-week exposure because thick rich Mn silicate native covering most surface.

Electrochemical and Tribological Behaviour of Oxide Dispersion Strengthened Duplex Stainless Steel in Mine Water Environment
Abstract This work investigated the electrochemical and aqueous tribological behavior of hot pressed 2205 duplex stainless steel (DSS). DSS sintered composites of different volume percent (% vol) of partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ) was developed using powder metallurgy (PM) technique. Electrochemical behaviour was studied at room temperature, using open circuit potential and potentiody...
متن کاملEffect of flagella on initial attachment of Listeria monocytogenes to stainless steel.
At 22 degrees C a flagellin mutant of Listeria monocytogenes was found to attach to stainless steel at levels 10-fold lower than wild-type cells, even under conditions preventing active motility. At 37 degrees C, when flagella are not produced, attachment of both strains was identical. Therefore, flagella per se facilitate the early stage of attachment.
متن کاملWater Lubrication of Stainless Steel using Reduced Graphene Oxide Coating
Lubrication of mechanical systems using water instead of conventional oil lubricants is extremely attractive from the view of resource conservation and environmental protection. However, insufficient film thickness of water due to low viscosity and chemical reaction of water with metallic materials have been a great obstacle in utilization of water as an effective lubricant. Herein, the frictio...
متن کاملStress Corrosion Crack Growth Mechanism on SUS316L Stainless Steel
The stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of stainless steel is one of the biggest problems for maintaining atomic power and chemical plants. However the mechanism has not been solved because of difficulty in observing hydrogen movement. In order to solve this problem, the author has developed a new SCC test method that enables the super Kelvin force microscope (SKFM) and the Kelvin force microscope ...
متن کاملPhotocatalytic reactivity of the titanium oxide loaded on a stainless steel screen by a spraying method
To reduce a film-diffusional resistance in the very vicinity of the photocatalyst surface, titanium oxide particles containing a small amount of adsorbent particles (310 %) are immobilized on a stainless steel screen by a spraying method and its performance is investigated by decomposing 2,4-dinitrophenol in water. It is found that the activity of this photocatalyst screen is higher than that o...
